Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Honorary Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is also the Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for starting the modern research into the study of eyewitness memories and the role of child victims as witnesses in legal situations. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has worked with many authorities and organisations all over the world to conduct studies and policy issues pertaining to children who are victims of the justice system. She serves as consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of numerous professional associations for example, those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is also a founding part of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development, as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the head of the American Psychological Association's three divisions which included Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family the Practice and Policy.
